Village of Care: Community Mural
A community art project celebrating birth and parenting in Lambton County.
Reproductive justice includes seeing our families reflected in the culture around us.
The stories we hear about growing and caring for a family shape how communities understand themselves. What stories we hear and who we hear them from matters.
Those stories are often shared quietly, in private spaces. Village of Care is an invitation to bring those experiences into the public landscape.
Radiant is collaborating with Lambton County artist Lauren Davidson to create a mural on the side of our building in Mitton Village. The design will be shaped by the lived experiences of families from across the County.
Before the mural is created, we will host a series of birth storytelling sessions with approximately 70 parents and caregivers. Through guided conversation and reflection, families will share their experiences of pregnancy, birth, and early parenting.
Lauren will translate these stories into the final mural, creating a permanent public reflection of the culture of parenting in Lambton County.
The finished mural will be visible along Mitton Street and will serve as a welcoming landmark for families visiting Radiant and nearby community spaces.
